Benefits for Individuals
Individual Membership of ESBB is available to individuals interested in biopreservation and biobanking, particularly in relation to the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions. Membership includes the following benefits:

1. Membership of a fast-growing and interactive community of biobanking professionals across the EMEA region. The community is strengthened by annual or more frerquent face-to-face meetings where members get to know each other and develop friendships and collaborations.

2. Substantial discounts on ESBB meeting registration fees: Individual members are entitled to a 120 Euros discount at the annual meeting in Marseille, which equals the standard membership fee.

3. Full access to ESBB Members Website which includes:
- communications forum for members only
- membership directory
- numerous opportunities for member input
- ESBB documentation
- regular news updates
- interactive polls

4. Eligibility to join ESBB programme committee which provides the opportunity to plan events at the ESBB annual meetings.

5. Eligibility to form and to join ESBB working groups, which provide the opportunity to develop one's own knowledge, to find solutions to common problems and to produce reports and publications that will help advance the biobanking field.

6. Eligibility to run for office is ESBB elections of President, Treasurer and Executive Committee Members.

7. Eligibility to vote in ESBB elections.

8. Eligibility to post information about meetings, courses and jobs on the ESBB website.

9. Access to a teleconference facility for ESBB-related calls.

Benefits for Biobanks & Institutions
Biobanks and Institutions that join ESBB as organisational members are entitlled to all of the benefits of Individual Membership for multiple representatives or delegates. In addition, Biobank / Institutional Members receive the following benefits:

1. All employees are entitled to a membership discount on ESBB meeting registration fees.

2. Listing of the Biobank / Institution on the public section of the ESBB website (optional).

3. Listing in the members-only section of the website.  This is optional and may include extra information if you wish. See: http://esbb.cloudaccess.net/


4. Eligibility to participate in ESBB consortia for project and programme grant applications.

5. Eligibility to use the ESBB logo shown below on the website and printed materials of the Biobank or Institution.

Benefits for Companies
Corporate membership is available to all commercial organisations including companies providing products and services to the biobanking community. Corporate membership provides all of the benefits for Individual Membership for 2 members of small organisations (<11 staff), 4 members of medium organisations (11-50 staff) and 6 members of large organisation (>50 staff).

Corporate membership also provides the following additional benefits:

1. All employees of the company will be entitled to the same discount on meeting registration as individual Members of ESBB.

2. Access to the biobanking expertise of the ESBB membership and also access to potential customers in the ESBB membership. Mutually beneficial exchanges between biobanking customers and vendors are a key aim of this society since they will help the development of better products that will improve the practice of biobanking.

3. Substantial discount on exhibitor booth fee at ESBB annual meetings: Discount of 500 Euros per booth (approximately 20% reduction).

4. Eligibility to advertise company details in the Market section of the ESBB website.5. Eligibility to use the ESBB logo shown below on the company website and printed materials.

7. Eligibility to host corporate workshops at ESBB meetings.

8. Opportunity to represent the interests of vendor organisations on the ESBB Vendor Committee.

9. Proposed future benefits to be determined by discussion between Executive and Vendor Committees, ensuring a harmonious balance between the needs of all member groups.
 
Membership Fees
This year fees will all be reduced to 75% of the fees last year. This is because we are bringing forward the membership renewal date for 2013 to the 1st January 2013 in order to synchronise with ISBER.

Membership fees due on the 1st April 2012, are as follows:
  • Individual membership - 90 EUR with discounts for:
    • ISBER members
    • HINARI group A & B countries
    • Students

  • Biobank/Inst. membership - 190 EUR with discounts for HINARI group A & B countries

  • Corporate membership
    • Small company - 195 EUR
    • Medium company - 375 EUR
    • Large company - 680 EU

Membership rates are reduced to 40% for countries in HINARI groups A and B within the EMEA region - please see the map on this page.

Online Payment Option
Membership fees can be paid online by credit card (eg. Visa, Mastercard) using the secure PayPal system shown below. They can also be paid by bank transfer as described on the application forms. The name of the ESBB bank account is "EPMA-ESBB".
